New Life

Good Morning Friends!!

Well, despite the foot of snow in my front yard, Spring truly is here!! My sweet dog Sparks had her puppies yesterday morning!!! 🙂 Wow- what a beautiful miracle it is to witness birth.  What a precious gift it is to see brand new life, straight from heaven. There is a sense of wonder, joy and hope each new birth brings. On this Thursday, I am so thankful for the cycle of life, and especially for the blessings of new life.

Along with the joy that comes with new life, it also brings with it the recognition that there is a time and season to all things.  My kids will adore these puppies!! For 8 weeks they will dote on them, love them, play with them, train them, photograph them, cherish them… and then, they will have to say goodbye.  It will be heartbreaking to see them leave, but as these pups move on to their forever homes, these sweet dogs will grow and fully fulfill the measure of their creation.  It really is a beautiful process.

This new birth and the knowledge of how special the next 8 weeks will be, for my kids and I, has triggered me to think of my own children and the times and seasons they go through as they grow up.  As much as we may want to hold onto our loved ones forever, it is inevitable, one day we must let them go.  They absolutely must be given the space to grow, to explore and to become the person they were meant to be.  Despite how it might break our heart, this too really is a beautiful process.

I am thankful for these puppies and the chance it is giving me to reflect on the blessings of new life.  It inspires me to remember the importance of living in the present moment and to cherish the time we have with our loved ones.  I saw a quote once that said, “God, please grant me the strength not to resent my biggest blessings.”  This new life is a great reminder to make the most of every precious moment, because we blink, and then it is a new season.  Life is a journey that is full of ups and downs, but with each new life, we are given a chance to embrace the future with optimism and hope.

What are you thankful for on this beautiful “Spring” Thursday morning?  What does new life inspire you to think about?

Rooting for you always,

Candice Noss
