Tender Mercies

Hello Friends!

Happy Thursday :).  What are you feeling thankful for this week?

Tender mercies that speak right to my soul are what I am so thankful for today.  I had surgery on my back yesterday and leading up to the surgery many intense emotions came up.  I am so grateful for my loving Savior who supports and carries me when I am weak.

The first tender mercy was a scriptures Psalms 23.  It came to me in 3 different ways and was like a love note from my Heavenly Father helping me know everything would be ok.

“The Lord is my Shepherd and I shall not want,

He makes me lie down in green pastures.

The Lord is my Shepherd leads me to still waters,

And He restores my soul.”

The thing about tender mercies is that they go right to the heart and there is no doubt they are meant for you.  Tender mercies might not make sense to anyone else, but they hit directly home for you. That is exactly what this scripture did for me, each and every time it came up. I am so thankful for this message from my Heavenly Parents.

The second tender mercy happened at 4:50 am Tuesday, on my way to the hospital. This huge owl took off and flew right in front of my car with an enormous wing span.  It was absolutely majestic!!  I felt it had a special meaning or message for me.  When I looked up the meaning of an owl, it means special protection and power.  Wow- that is exactly what I needed heading into spinal surgery- protection!!  What a beautiful message from on high.

The third of so many tender mercies shown to me in the past week was a Lady Bug.  I took a bath the night before the surgery and found a lady bug by my tub.  I thought how weird it was to see a lady bug in the middle of winter and wondered if there was a special meaning behind it.  Then yesterday, when I was in and out of sleep, there was a lady bug in my dream.  It felt important and in my hazy fog, I wrote down on my pad of paper by my bed to look up the meaning of a lady bug.  What I found again touched my heart. Lady Bugs mean a happy resolution to a hard trial, a fresh start, and good luck.  Wow- how cool.. right?!?!

I felt an outpouring of love and have been powerfully surrounded by such healing energy as I’ve taken the last 2 days to do nothing but rest and recover.  I’m so thankful for angels- earthly and heavenly that are the messengers of these tender mercies.

Have you noticed any tender mercies over the past week?  I like to ask my kids daily if they had any tender mercies happen.  Awareness of tender mercies helps us feel connected to divinity and I am so thankful for every little thing that testifies of God’s love for us.

Gratefully yours,

Candice Noss
